I have been a Youth Project Coordinator at the Eden Community Access Centre, working with disadvantaged youth in rural and remote communities of the Bega Valley in the areas of Disaster Preparedness in the wake of the horrific Black Summer Bushfires, helping to build back community connectedness and brood resilience in our youth. Working alongside Carol Ahern and William Sharples, we designed and developed a video game for bushfire preparedness with disengaged and disadvantaged youth at the Pambula Flexible Learning Centre. We took a cohort of year nine students from Lumen Christi Catholic College to visit local organisations practicing sustainability, after which helping students to create a project of their own choosing, from virtual reality permiculture, to 3D digital modeling a sustainable fishing lure, a digital tsunami simulation, websites for identifying fire resistant and fire retardant native plants and projection mapping native animals escaping a bush fire smoke simulation. I designed Edens Emergency Action Plan, a pamphlet for disaster preparedness and grew the community access centres social media reach by two thousand percent as well as designed the Bega Valley Learner Driver Mentor Program.
